What is Aptriax-S?
Aptriax- S is a strong antibiotic, used against various bacterial infections. Aptriax- S injection is widely used in hospital care settings, in the ICU to control hospital-acquired infections.
Uses of Aptriax-S
It is used for infections that are resistant to ceftriaxone.

How does Aptriax-S work?
Ceftriaxone- It causes perforations in the bacterial cell wall and causes cell death
Sulbactam – It prolongs the antibiotic effect, inhibiting the lactamase enzyme.

Precautions while using Aptriax-S
- • It should not be given or mixed with calcium-containing products as Ringer’s solution.
- • It should be used cautiously in breastfeeding women.
- • It may cause drowsiness; avoid driving.
Administration instructions
Aptriax-S injection is administered as a slow IV infusion (30-60 minutes) or IM, when mixed with lidocaine.
Storage of Aptriax-S
- • Ceftriaxone + salbactum powders should be stored at 15-30 degrees Celsius.
- • The reconstituted solution should be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius for 24 to 48 hours.
Contraindications
Should not be used in allergy or hypersensitivity to drug components.
And avoid in liver dysfunction, bleeding disorders, kidney disorders, and gallstones.
