What is Aptriax-S?

Aptriax- S is a strong antibiotic, used against various bacterial infections. Aptriax- S injection is widely used in hospital care settings, in the ICU to control hospital-acquired infections.

Uses of Aptriax-S

It is used for infections that are resistant to ceftriaxone.

How does Aptriax-S work?

Ceftriaxone- It causes perforations in the bacterial cell wall and causes cell death

Precautions while using Aptriax-S

• • It should not be given or mixed with calcium-containing products as Ringer’s solution.
• • It should be used cautiously in breastfeeding women.
• • It may cause drowsiness; avoid driving.

Administration instructions

Aptriax-S injection is administered as a slow IV infusion (30-60 minutes) or IM, when mixed with lidocaine.

Storage of Aptriax-S

• • Ceftriaxone + salbactum powders should be stored at 15-30 degrees Celsius.
• • The reconstituted solution should be stored at 2 to 8 degrees Celsius for 24 to 48 hours.

Contraindications

Should not be used in allergy or hypersensitivity to drug components.
And avoid in liver dysfunction, bleeding disorders, kidney disorders, and gallstones.
