What is Pemeaxis?

Pemeaxis is an anticancer medicine used for various types of lung cancers.

Uses of Pemeaxis

• • Non-small cell lung cancer
• • Malignant pleural mesothelioma

How does Pemeaxis work?

It inhibits folate metabolism in the cancer cell, inhibiting DNA and RNA replication.

Precautions –

To be used cautiously in patients with:

• • Liver disorders
• • Renal disorders
• • Blood disorders

Drug interactions

• • Avoid using NSAIDS and other nephrotoxic drugs
• • Live vaccine
• • Drugs that interfere with folate metabolism

Common side-effects –

• • Fatigue
• • Nausea
• • Bone marrow suppression
• • Mouth ulcers
• • Loss of appetite
• • Diarrhea
• • Fluid retention
• • Hair loss

Severe side effects

• • Severe Myelosuppression
